BrewReturn gives café owners a fast, evidence-based read on who's job-ready, where training will actually move the needle, and what it's worth to your bottom line.
Hiring baristas today usually comes down to a trial shift and gut feel. There's no easy way to know, before day one, whether someone can actually pull a consistent shot, handle a rush, or recover a bad customer interaction.
BrewReturn fixes this — not by adding more paperwork, but by giving you a fast, evidence-based read on who's ready to work.
See a candidate's real capability profile before you commit a trial shift. Spot job-ready baristas faster, and cut your time-to-hire.
Clear capability expectations lift day-to-day performance. Visible career pathways for staff mean better engagement — and better retention.
Stop retraining people on things they already know. Training targets actual gaps, with suggested links beside each one, cutting onboarding time and wasted spend.
Compete on staff quality — fewer bad hires and faster onboarding can set you apart from cafés still hiring on gut feel.
Spend training budget where it matters — focused, gap-based training shows up directly in lower cost and time.
Better coffee, better service, better reviews — higher-quality, better-matched staff improve the customer experience.
See the payoff before you commit — a sample ROI Dashboard shows what this looks like for a café your size.
Give each capability on a Role a weight, so the things you care about most count most. A note beside each weight shows its share of the Role's score.
Every shared candidate gets a match score for the Role, shown beside the Role's own score and the candidate's overall score.
Candidates are listed best match first, and each profile shows which of your Roles they suit best. Pause a Role any time you're not hiring.
A signature drink, a house milk standard, a closing routine. Group them under categories of your own. Only your café can see, edit or delete them.
A guided designer flags vague wording like "good" or "usually" and spots levels that read the same. Every level gets two versions: what you see on a Role, and what a candidate sees when rating themselves.
Suggest one of yours for the shared set. BrewReturn reviews it, and if it's accepted your Roles and your candidates' ratings carry across. Candidates see your own capabilities only after they share for a Role that uses them.
Each shortfall lists suggested courses, videos or articles aimed at the levels between where someone is now and what the Role needs.
Add links to your own courses, videos or in-house documents. They're suggested ahead of the shared library, and candidates who share with you can see them too.
BrewReturn keeps a library of useful links for each capability. Suggest one of yours and, once reviewed, every café benefits. Candidates see a next step on their own profile too.
Levels, evidence, tools, review history and suggested training, downloaded in one click.
Everyone who shared for a Role, ranked by match with a capability grid. Or one candidate against all your Roles, with training for each shortfall.
What each Role asks for, in your own wording, and who has shared for it. Made when you click, never emailed or stored, and candidates' email addresses never appear.
Runs in your web browser. Café owners and candidates each have their own login, with self-service password reset.
1–2 days to set up your café and define what "job-ready" looks like, using the shared capabilities and any of your own.
Send each Role's apply link. Candidates build their own profile and choose to share it with you.
Check a candidate against the Role — or any of your other Roles. See suggested training for each gap and download a PDF report.
Behind the scenes, BrewReturn is powered by a structured capability framework — similar to what industries like IT have used for years. You'll never need to touch it directly; it's simply the engine that makes the insights reliable and consistent.
A candidate's profile is visible to a café only after the candidate chooses to share it with that café.
Sharing lasts until the candidate or the café withdraws it. Candidates can also delete their profile, or their whole account, whenever they like.
Email addresses stay private unless the candidate chooses to share one. A café can ask once, and the candidate decides.
Plain-language Privacy Policy and Terms of Use are published on the site, so you and your candidates can read them before signing up.
We're looking for a small group of café owners to trial BrewReturn — no cost, no software, no commitment beyond a bit of your time.
